Renée's Travel Site is editorially independent. The recommendations and opinions here are my own, formed by my own research and first-hand experience. No advertiser, sponsor, destination, hotel or brand has any influence over what I cover or what I say. I do not accept payment in exchange for coverage, a positive review, or a place on any list.

I do not use affiliate links. I earn no commission when you click a link or book a trip, because I never want the temptation to recommend the thing that pays me over the thing that's right for you. There are no "book now" buttons feeding a commission, and I do not operate a booking engine or take payment for travel.
Any advertising I display is visually distinct from editorial content and labelled where appropriate. I keep full control over which ads appear and reserve the right to refuse advertising that conflicts with my values or misleads readers. Advertising revenue never buys editorial coverage or influence.
If I ever publish content that is paid for or produced in partnership with a third party, it will be clearly and prominently labelled as sponsored or partnered, so you always know what you're reading. Such content is the exception, not the rule, and is held to the same standard of honesty as everything else. At present, I publish no paid placements within my diary entries or essays.
My entries are built from first-hand travel and direct experience, supported by careful research from reputable sources. I aim to be accurate and current, and I date my entries so you can judge their freshness. Where information is time-sensitive — entry rules, visas, prices, safety — I encourage readers to confirm the latest details with official sources, because conditions change faster than any article can.
Travel is subjective, and this is a personal diary. What I publish reflects my genuine views and experiences. Reasonable people will disagree about the best neighbourhood or the perfect itinerary, and that's welcome. I try always to distinguish fact from opinion and to be honest about the limits of a single perspective — mine.
I get things wrong sometimes, and when I do, I fix them openly. If you spot a factual error, email corrections@reneestravelsite.com and I'll review it promptly. Substantive corrections are made to the entry and, where relevant, noted so the record is clear. I would always rather be corrected than be wrong.
Photographs and illustrations on this site are either created for Renée's Travel Site, properly licensed, or used with permission. Some images are illustrative rather than literal depictions of a specific place mentioned in the text.
