I keep cookies to a minimum. Here are the few I use, what they do, and how you stay in control.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences over time, and help the owner understand how pages are used. Some cookies are essential for a site to function; others are optional and help with measurement.
Renée's Travel Site is a personal publication, not a shop, so we use cookies sparingly. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites. The categories we use are:
These keep the site working and remember the cookie choice you make in our banner. They can't be switched off through the banner because the site relies on them, and they store no marketing information.
With your consent, we use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and understand, in aggregate, which entries are read and how people move through the site. This data is collected in a non-identifying form. If you choose "essential only," these are not set.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| renee_consent_v1 | Remembers your cookie preference | Necessary | 12 months |
| _analytics_* | Aggregate, anonymised traffic measurement | Analytics | Up to 24 months |
When you first visit, our banner lets you accept analytics cookies or choose "essential only." You can change your mind anytime by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which makes the banner appear again. You can also block or delete cookies entirely through your browser settings — though some features may not work as intended if you do.
Some pages load services that may set their own cookies — for example, the embedded map on the contact page or a web-font provider. These are governed by the privacy and cookie policies of those providers. We keep such embeds to a minimum.
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices evolve. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. For more on how we handle personal data generally, see our Privacy Policy.
